Integrative therapy draws from multiple approaches rather than following a single method. Sessions might combine counselling with somatic techniques, clinical hypnotherapy, EFT tapping or ACT, depending on what you’re working with and what feels useful at the time. The idea is that different approaches reach different levels, and what works best varies from person to person.
My approach is grounded in a holistic understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Most of what is driving your stress, anxiety and emotional patterns isn't conscious. It lives in your nervous system, your memories and your core beliefs at an unconscious level. That's why I use methods that work with your whole self: mind, body, and subconscious, to help create real, lasting change. My work is also informed by additional evidence-based frameworks such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Aaruka® is a structured, trauma-informed process that works directly at the subconscious and nervous system level. In a session, you’re guided into a deeply relaxed theta brainwave state through hypnosis. From there, we work to clear unhelpful patterns, process stored trauma, and shift beliefs held at a subconscious level. Sessions are conducted via the Aaruka® Online Trauma Clinic. You can read more on the Aaruka page.
Integrative counselling is a flexible process. Sessions draw from a range of approaches depending on what’s most useful for you at the time. It suits people looking for consistent support over a period of weeks or months.
Aaruka® Therapy is more structured and targeted. It’s designed to work directly with specific trauma, beliefs, or patterns at a subconscious level, and typically requires fewer sessions. If you’re unsure which is the right fit, the free intro call is a good place to start.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is an evidence-based approach that combines focused tapping on specific acupressure points with acknowledgment of particular emotions or experiences. It works to reduce emotional distress and shift patterns held in the body and nervous system.
Clinical hypnotherapy guides you into a deeply relaxed state where the subconscious mind becomes more accessible. In that state, we can work with the beliefs, patterns, and responses that don’t shift easily through conscious effort alone. Most people find it a calm, grounded experience.
I work with the body and the subconscious as well as the thinking mind. Most of what drives our patterns, reactions, and emotional responses lives below conscious awareness, in the nervous system, in memory, in the body. Talking about something can help you understand it. This work tries to reach the level where it’s actually held.
The first session is mostly about understanding where you are and what you’re hoping to shift. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. By the end, we’ll have a clearer sense of how to work together and what that might look like going forward.
Sessions run via Zoom. You’ll need a quiet, private space and a reasonably stable internet connection. Most people find that being in their own environment actually helps them feel more comfortable and open. Before your first session, you’ll receive a confirmation with everything you need to get set up.
This varies depending on what you’re working with and how you respond. Most clients start with three to five sessions, assess what has shifted, and then continue or return as needed. Some work is shorter, some longer. There’s no set formula.
All sessions are via Zoom, which means you can access support from anywhere in Australia without the time or stress of travelling. Research consistently shows online therapy to be as effective as in-person work, and many people find being in their own space actually helps them go deeper.
A limited number of in person sessions are available in Braeside, Vic. Please get in touch via email to discuss availability.
As a registered counsellor, I’m not able to accept Mental Health Care Plans or provide Medicare rebates. Sessions are privately billed.
