What EFT looks like in a session…

It's like hitting the reset button for your mind and body, allowing you to experience emotional freedom."

Over the last few blog posts, I've been chatting about what EFT tapping is, how it works and how it can help with anxiety, stress, and overwhelm.

The essence of EFT is rooted in the belief that unresolved emotional issues can contribute to physical pain and disease. By tapping on specific points on your body, you can release the emotional blocks that might be causing your anxiety, stress, and overwhelm. It's like hitting the reset button for your mind and body, allowing you to experience emotional freedom. Now I think it's time to talk about the process...

So what does an EFT tapping session include?

First, we will identify the main issue you want to address. It could be absolutely any feeling or event you want to work towards clearing the emotional attachment to. Perhaps you have anxiety about an upcoming work presentation? Or, maybe you’re finding it hard to let go of a negative event you experienced previously, and are going over it again and again in your mind? Or, you might be wanting to clear the feelings of being overwhelmed by your constant to-do list? These are just a few examples.

Next, we rate the intensity of the emotions you are feeling about the issue, using a scale of 0 to 10. This helps you track your progress.

Then we begin with a set up statement, where we state what the problem, issue or emotion is. At this stage, we tap the side of your hand, as we repeat the statement.

Following the set up statement, I will lead you through the tapping sequence, while stating your issue. The points include your eyebrows, side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, chin, collarbone, under the arm and the top of your head.

After completing a round of tapping, we take a breath and pause for a moment. I will then ask you to rate the intensity of your issue again. We repeat this process until the intensity drops to a manageable level.

Ending the EFT tapping session

Finally, I always like to end the session with a round of positivity and affirmations, tapping to release any remaining emotions.

EFT tapping is a skill you can learn

Remember, EFT is a skill that absolutely improves with time. Consistency is key. The more you practise, the more effective and quicker EFT will become in managing any feelings you have of anxiety, stress, and overwhelm.

I would love to work with you to teach you this wonderful skill. You can book a session with me here.
